Multi-County Pursuit Ends in Arrest Near Pine Ridge Road and I-75
Naples, FL — Saturday
One person was taken into custody Saturday afternoon after a multi-county vehicle pursuit came to an end near the busy intersection of Pine Ridge Road and Interstate 75 in Naples.
According to initial reports, the pursuit began earlier in the day in North Port, located in Charlotte County, before continuing south into Collier County.
By approximately 4:15 p.m., the fleeing vehicle was spotted by a viewer traveling past Palm Beach Boulevard in the southbound lanes of I-75. Witnesses reported the vehicle was moving at a high rate of speed and, at times, drove onto the shoulder in order to pass other motorists.
Just before 4:30 p.m., a deputy with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office was seen deploying a stop stick near the 109-mile marker in an effort to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion.
Shortly afterward, the vehicle exited I-75 at Pine Ridge Road, where the pursuit ended in the westbound lanes just west of the intersection.
Authorities confirmed that one individual was taken into custody at the scene. No additional information has been released regarding potential charges or injuries.
The incident remains under investigation, and officials are expected to provide further updates as details become available.
