NAPLES, Fla. — Naples Grande Beach Resort, one of Southwest Florida’s most recognizable beachfront destinations, will temporarily lay off 235 employees as it prepares for an extensive renovation project that will shut down the property for most of the year.
The resort is expected to close in April and remain closed until late 2026, according to reports, as management undertakes what has been described as a “comprehensive” overhaul of the hotel.
Officials say the renovation will include major improvements throughout the property, modernizing guest areas and upgrading amenities in an effort to keep the resort competitive in Naples’ luxury hospitality market.
The shutdown is expected to last nearly nine months, with reopening planned toward the end of the year.
The closure means hundreds of workers across departments — including housekeeping, food and beverage, guest services, and maintenance — will be temporarily without jobs.
