One Dead After Collision Involving Garbage Truck in Collier County

One person has died and another has been seriously injured after a collision involving a garbage truck and an SUV in Collier County.

The crash happened on State Road 29 at the intersection with Janes Scenic Drive on Monday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, emergency crews responded to reports of a serious crash involving the two vehicles shortly after the start of the morning commute.

One occupant of the SUV was taken to Physicians Regional Hospital but later died from their injuries.

The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and remains under medical care.
