Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Naples Airport, No Injuries Reported

NAPLES, Fla. (Collier County) — No injuries were reported after a small aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing Monday morning at the Naples Municipal Airport, according to local officials.

Naples Fire Rescue crews responded to the incident at approximately 11:57 a.m. after a single-engine plane experienced mechanical trouble shortly after takeoff.

Officials said the aircraft, a six-seat Beech A36 Bonanza (tail number N934PC), had just departed from the airport and retracted its landing gear when it lost power. Fire crews reported the plane was about 150 feet in the air when the issue occurred.

With no power and little altitude to work with, the pilot — the sole occupant of the aircraft — was forced to perform a belly landing at the northern end of Runway 5-23. Emergency responders were already on scene and assisted as a precaution.

The runway was closed for several hours while crews inspected the aircraft and ensured the area was safe. Airport officials later confirmed the runway has since reopened, and normal airport operations have resumed.

The cause of the power loss remains under investigation.
