NAPLES, Fla. — Sunday night’s “ER drama” at Physicians Regional on Collier Boulevard wasn’t on TV — it was veryreal, and it ended with a 72-year-old man in handcuffs after punches flew in the hospital parking lot.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 8:18 p.m. after staff reported a heated situation escalating fast. The suspect, identified as George Kuzma, allegedly began yelling at staff in the emergency room, forcing a charge nurse to call for backup to have him escorted out.

But this was no peaceful walk to the door. 😬

Deputies say Kuzma stopped several times during his “escort,” and the hospital staffer guiding him had to gently touch his back to keep things moving. That’s when, once outside, the situation exploded.

Kuzma reportedly took an “aggressive step” toward the escort — and then allegedly unleashed a flurry of punches, hitting the man in the face multiple times and knocking his glasses off! 🤯

The victim, clearly not in the mood to be a punching bag, told deputies he swung back in self-defense, striking Kuzma several times in the face before the scuffle ended.

Hospital staff confirmed Kuzma had been acting “belligerent” before being escorted out, but no one actually witnessed the parking lot brawl itself.

Kuzma was treated for his own injuries — in the very same hospital — before being arrested and charged with battery on specified personnel.
