Strawberry Cake Truffles for Valentine’s Day (aka Love Nuggets)

💘 Strawberry Cake Truffles for Valentine’s Day (aka Love Nuggets) 💘

Made with Cake Mix Because Love Is Hard Enough

Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (because we’re romantic, not heroic)

  • Ingredients listed on the box (eggs, oil, etc.—follow your heart and the instructions)

  • ¾–1 cup frosting (store-bought is fine; this is a judgment-free zone)

  • 12–16 oz chocolate or candy melts (pink, red, white, or “oops I bought brown”)

  • Sprinkles (hearts preferred, chaos accepted)

Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Cake
Bake the strawberry cake according to the box directions.
Try not to eat it immediately. This is the hardest step.

Step 2: Destroy the Cake
Once cooled, crumble the cake into fine crumbs using your hands.
Take a moment to reflect on how you just ruined something beautiful for love.

Step 3: Frosting Therapy
Add frosting a little at a time and mix until the cake forms a dough that’s moist but not “uh-oh.”
You want it rollable, not emotionally unstable.

Step 4: Roll Into Balls
Roll into 1-inch balls.
These are truffles, not meatballs—be gentle.

Step 5: Chill Out
Place the balls in the fridge for 30–45 minutes so they can think about what they’ve done.

Step 6: Dip for Love
Melt the chocolate/candy melts and dip each truffle.
Use a fork, spoon, or whatever utensil you grabbed in a panic.

Step 7: Sprinkle Immediately
Add sprinkles before the chocolate sets, or you’ll regret everything.

Step 8: Let Set & Admire
Let them harden, then admire your Valentine’s-worthy creations like the baking icon you are.

💝 Serving Suggestions

  • Give to your Valentine to say “I love you.”

  • Give to yourself to say “I survived today.”

  • Eat three in a row because it’s a holiday.
