🚨 Collier County Deputies Pursue Speeding Driver; Crash Follows Near Golden Gate Parkway
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — An attempt by Collier County deputies to stop a speeding driver ended in a crash Wednesday evening near a Burger King on Golden Gate Parkway.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), deputies tried to pull over a vehicle for excessive speeding near Wilson Boulevard and Immokalee Road. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit through the area.
The chase came to a violent end when the suspect’s car collided with another vehicle in the parking lot of the Burger King located at 5055 Golden Gate Parkway.
Authorities said the driver was taken into custody shortly after the crash. At least one person was injured and transported to a local hospital for further examination, according to CCSO.
Deputies have not released the name of the driver or additional details about the extent of the injuries.
The area around the Burger King was temporarily closed as investigators processed the scene and cleared the wreckage.
