KEY WEST, Fla. — Thousands of fans celebrated the life and legacy of Jimmy Buffett Sunday, Aug. 31, during the Just a Few Friends festival in Key West. Held over Labor Day weekend, the festival honored the singer-songwriter who made the island his home during some of his most productive years.

Parade floats, live music, and Margaritaville-themed revelers filled the streets, singing along to classics like “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Fans from across the country came together to share memories, enjoy local food and drinks, and embrace the carefree island spirit Buffett championed.

“Being here feels like celebrating with family,” said fan Carla Mendoza, who traveled from Orlando. “Jimmy’s music isn’t just songs—it’s a lifestyle.”

Local businesses along Duval Street thrived amid the festive crowd, offering themed menus, drinks, and souvenirs. As the festival closed with a sunset concert near Mallory Square, it was clear that Buffett’s influence endures—his music, joy, and island spirit living on through fans who continue to celebrate him.
