Lehigh Acres and Cape Coral Continue Their Streak of “Exciting” Local Drama

LEHIGH ACRES & CAPE CORAL — Because who needs Netflix when your neighborhood is basically a live-action thriller? Residents of Lehigh Acres and Cape Coral got a front-row seat to a real-life action montage this week.

On Felix Avenue North in Lehigh Acres, a woman apparently discovered that firearms are not just for showing off on social media. She was injured in a shooting that had neighbors clutching their coffee cups a little tighter. Meanwhile, a man on Lee Boulevard in the same town apparently decided it was his turn to audition for an action movie — also resulting in injury.

Cape Coral didn’t want to be left out. On SE 30th Street, a man found that knives, too, could make life a little more “exciting” than necessary. He’s now seriously injured, proving once again that Cape Coral’s streets are not exactly known for calm strolls.

Local authorities, busy juggling paperwork and trying not to sigh too loudly, reminded residents that they really shouldn’t try to live out their favorite crime drama scenes. Meanwhile, neighbors are left to wonder if next week’s episode might involve helicopters, car chases, or maybe a cameo by a confused tourist.

So far, the only thing more dramatic than the incidents themselves has been the sheer ability of Lehigh Acres and Cape Coral to keep the adrenaline pumping for anyone who forgot how boring real life can be.
