Love at First Bite Chocolate Cupcakes
Love at First Bite Chocolate Cupcakes
Makes about 12 cupcakes, or 6 if you’re “taste-testing” aggressively.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar (for sweetness, unlike your ex)
¾ cup all-purpose flour (emotional support flour)
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (the dark, mysterious kind)
¾ tsp baking powder
¾ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt (just a pinch—this isn’t a breakup)
1 egg (room temperature, like your expectations)
½ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, we don’t judge)
¼ cup vegetable oil (for moistness—the cupcake, relax)
1 tsp vanilla extract (because romance)
½ cup hot water or coffee (coffee makes it deeper… like love)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
If your oven takes forever, whisper sweet nothings to it.Mix dry ingredients (sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt) in a bowl.
Pretend you’re stirring away all your unresolved feelings.Add egg, milk, oil, and vanilla.
Mix until smooth—like your best flirting technique.Slowly stir in the hot water or coffee.
The batter will be thin. This is normal. Like vulnerability.Pour into cupcake liners about ⅔ full.
Overfilling leads to messes, and this recipe is not about commitment issues.Bake for 18–22 minutes.
Cupcakes are done when a toothpick comes out clean—or with a few crumbs, like a healthy relationship.Cool completely before frosting.
Patience is love. Also, melted frosting is chaos.
Optional Frosting (Highly Recommended)
Chocolate buttercream, pink buttercream, or whatever you emotionally need today. Add sprinkles, hearts, or write things like:
“Be Mine”
“Call Me”
“I Ate Your Cupcake”
Serving Suggestions
