Marco Island Academy Hires Rich Costante as New Head Football Coach

Marco Island, FL — As the 2025 high school football season approaches, Marco Island Academy (MIA) has announced Rich Costante as the new head coach of the “Rays,” joining a wave of coaching changes sweeping across Southwest Florida this fall.

Costante arrives with a diverse coaching background, having served as an assistant football coach at Lely High School and gaining experience in softball and volleyball. His well-rounded skills have sparked optimism that he can bring new energy and growth to MIA’s young football program, both on and off the field.

“This is an exciting opportunity,” Costante said. “Marco Island Academy is a special place, and I’m eager to help these athletes develop not only as players but as leaders and teammates.”

His hiring comes amid a regional shuffle, with a dozen area schools introducing new football coaches this season. For MIA, which has steadily expanded its athletics program in recent years, Costante’s appointment signals a commitment to stability and progress.

MIA’s Athletic Director praised Costante’s ability to connect with players and his dedication to fostering competitive teams built on discipline and sportsmanship.

The Rays kick off their 2025 season later this month, with fans looking forward to seeing how the team performs under Costante’s leadership. While MIA remains one of the smaller programs in the region, the school community is hopeful that this new chapter will spark momentum on the field.
