Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Pickup Truck in Naples; Southbound Lanes Shut Down

A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a pickup truck Tuesday evening, according to Greater Naples Fire Rescue and Collier County EMS.

Crews responded to the scene at 7:17 p.m. and arrived to find a damaged pickup truck and a motorcycle lying in the roadway. First responders immediately began CPR on the motorcyclist, who was declared a “Trauma Alert” and transported to NCH Downtown. Despite the efforts of fire and EMS personnel, the motorcyclist later succumbed to injuries.

Authorities said the pickup truck driver was not injured in the crash.

The crash has prompted significant traffic impacts, with all southbound lanes closed beginning at Golden Gate Parkway as investigators work the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and has not yet released the identities of those involved.
