BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — Three people were injured, two of them seriously, after a vehicle crash at the intersection of Imperial Parkway and Shangrila Road on Sunday afternoon.

Bonita Springs Fire Control & Rescue District and Lee County EMS responded to the crash at approximately 12:13 p.m. Emergency crews worked to extricate two victims from a heavily damaged vehicle. Both sustained injuries that met “Trauma Alert” criteria and were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

A third person was treated for minor injuries.

The crash caused significant traffic delays, with eastbound and southbound lanes at the intersection blocked while first responders worked the scene.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
