A water main break along Collier Boulevard, just north of Vanderbilt Beach Road, has disrupted Wednesday afternoon traffic and sent repair crews into urgent action.

The incident, reported around 2:45 p.m., forced the closure of multiple southbound lanes, leaving only a single lane open to traffic. The resulting bottleneck quickly created significant delays for drivers navigating one of North Naples’ busiest thoroughfares.

Collier County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene to manage traffic flow and assist with lane closures. Officials urged motorists to seek alternate routes until repairs are completed.

Crews from the Collier County Water Division worked into the evening to assess the extent of the damage and begin repairs. While officials did not immediately indicate whether the break would affect water service to nearby neighborhoods, they advised residents to monitor county alerts for any boil-water notices.
