๐Ÿš” An Unexpected Third Wheel: Marco Island Police Department Steps In

Just after 12:30 a.m., an officer with the Marco Island Police Department stopped a vehicle traveling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver explained he was heading to Marco Island for a beach date.

At the same time, on the opposite side of the island, another officer conducting proactive business checks located a parked vehicle in a designated non-parking area.

It turned out the second vehicle belonged to the driverโ€™s date.

Neither party expected law enforcement to feature in their evening plans, but both were issued reminders about Marco Islandโ€™s traffic and parking regulations before continuing on their way.

Officials noted this was one of several traffic stops conducted across the island overnight. Despite the activity, there were very few significant violations reported.
