🚨 Juvenile Hospitalized After Non-Fatal Drowning Incident in Marco Island

MARCO ISLAND, FL — Emergency crews responded Thursday afternoon to a non-fatal drowning involving a juvenile in a residential area of Marco Island, according to local authorities.

Officers from the Marco Island Police Department and firefighters with Marco Island Fire Rescue were dispatched at approximately 4:30 p.m. to the 900 block of Hunt Court.

Rapid emergency response

Police officials say officers arrived within roughly 90 seconds of dispatch and immediately began administering lifesaving measures to the juvenile at the scene.

The child was then transported by Collier County EMS to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The juvenile sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized, where they are continuing to receive medical care.

Officials thank first responders

Authorities credited the coordinated response of police, fire rescue, and EMS personnel for ensuring rapid medical intervention at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with the child, the family, and all those affected,” officials said in a statement, also recognizing the swift actions of first responders.
