A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Golden Gate Estates.
Emergency crews were called to 1971 16th Avenue SW shortly after 9:26pm on Wednesday following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle which then fled the scene.
Responders from Greater Naples Fire Rescue and Collier County EMS found the victim, an adult male, suffering from significant injuries. Due to the severity of his condition, he was declared a “Trauma Alert” at the scene.
Medical personnel requested a helicopter transport, and the patient was flown by MedFlight to Gulf Coast Medical Center for urgent treatment.
Investigators have not released details about the vehicle involved, and it remains unclear whether any witnesses saw the collision.
The hit-and-run is now under investigation as authorities work to identify the driver and determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
