A juvenile suffered serious injuries Sunday night after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a major Naples intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:34 p.m. at the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Airport-Pulling Road.
Investigators said the juvenile entered the intersection after disregarding the pedestrian traffic signal and was struck by a sedan traveling through the intersection.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, including deputies from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, who assisted with the incident.
The juvenile was transported for medical treatment with serious injuries. No information about the driver’s condition or whether any charges are expected has been released.
The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
